With the Gerber Gator machete you do not only have a machete for chopping, but also a full-fledged saw. The back of the blade is equipped with full-fledged saw teeth. Ideal for cutting some thicker branches. The blade is made of rust-resistant steel with a higher carbon content and is pretty flexible. The blade is not extremely sharp, as it is intended as a chopping knife and the edge shouldn’t be too thin for that. Of course, it is easy to sharpen it yourself, if you find this necessary. But actually it is not necessary for a machete to have a razor-sharp edge, due to it’s function.
